OUR TOOLS

Individual counseling

Individual counseling is a tool that facilitates the therapeutic relationship between psychotherapist and client. It allows the psychotherapist to focus on a specific case to be penetrated in order to analyze and understand it. Counseling can be practiced in the areas of personal, family or professional life. It allows the client to tell their painful story and to be listened to with empathy in order to jointly detect the problem at the root of any mental and emotional disturbance. Once the problem is identified, the psychotherapist helps the client to become aware of and increase their own inner resources and strengths which open up the ability to make decisions up to the challenges to which appropriate solutions should be found.

Metamedicine

An approach developed by Claudia Rainville since 1987, Metamedicine allows psychotherapists to link the emotional disorder to a bodily manifestation of the psychosomatic imbalance in the client. It facilitates the discovery of the psychological cause of the bodily symptom as well as the suggestion of awareness of the behavior to adopt in order not only to change the behavior at the base of the imbalance, but also to allow one's own body to trigger an effective process of self-healing.

Counseling and therapy for couples

Physical, sexual and psychological gender-based violence (SGBV) is currently on the rise. This type of violence is now ingrained in mentalities and social norms. “Nearly one in three women worldwide has experienced physical or sexual violence from an intimate partner. In Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia, about 37% of women experience intimate partner violence, with peaks reaching 78% in some Central African countries (Ximena Sampson, 2017)”.

In addition to the moral, psychological and physical impacts that can even lead to the death of the victims, this violence also has unfortunate consequences on their social life and their economic situation, raising conflicts and vulnerabilities of all kinds capable of weakening the quality of education and psychosocial growth of children while destabilizing family cohesion.
Our role is to support victim couples to become aware of this social scourge and to make appropriate decisions and strategies with the aim of finding solutions up to this socio-cultural challenge.
Support and group therapy

The target groups are of all kinds. They are generally homogeneous groups with a common interest or victims of a common danger. They can be students, delinquents, widows, single mothers, people living with disabilities, marginalized people, etc. We supervise them in groups created for a specific purpose: to share their worries and concerns and support each other in the search for solutions to their psychosocial situations. Several methods are used to allow each participant to develop their trust in others, to flourish and to express themselves in order to stimulate everyone's contribution in the search for adequate solutions to shared challenges.

OUR INTERVENTIONS

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING

Our interventions go for all individual cases either only psychological and/or psychosomatic:

– Stressful situations

– Grief and painful separations

– Mental blockages and emotional wounds

– Cases of stress-related disorders (PTSD and Chronic PTSD)

– Cases of depressions and anxiety

– Addiction cases (to drugs: hemp, tobacco, alcohol, etc).

– Cases of discomfort (insomnia, severe headache, hot flushes, mood disorders, boulimia, anorexia, etc.)

– Psychotherapy for the chronic patients (gastritis and stomach ulcers, hypertension, hypotension, diabetes, hepatitis, allergies, etc.)

These non-communicable diseases are largely due to bodily manifestation of a psychological problem buried in the unconscious. Once the problem is identified and resolved, the body should normally be able to start the healing process and the disease starts to heal gradually.
SUPPORT AND THERAPY FOR COUPLES

Our interventions also go for couples seeking harmonious relationships, family well-being or couples in crisis situations:

  •  We help engaged couples to discover ways to enrich and make the engagement period fruitful.
  • Become aware of the normal developmental stages of the couples
  • Strategies and keys to success in basic education for children
  • Cases of sexual crises within couples
  • Cases of communication crises within couples
  • Cases of domestic violence to be identified and positively managed
  • Cases of marital reconciliation after long-standing crises

Bonne lecture.
